All those who talk about AI, robots, and the jobless future have forgotten the lessons of history. When companies use technology simply to cut costs, jobs are eliminated, but when we use technology to do more, jobs are created. This is the master design pattern for a better future: don't just use new technology to make what you do today more efficient; use it to do things that were previously impossible. This talk will focus on lessons from companies that have used digital transformation to radically up the ante on their existing industry, delighting their customers, confounding their rivals, and opening up new opportunities. The necessary changes are not superficial. Businesses must completely transform themselves or be left behind.

Multi-cloud, microservices, data explosion – these new and changing technologies, widely adopted across every business in pursuit of innovation, are creating an unprecedented level of complexity for IT organizations. The speed, scale and complexity brought on by innovation is stressing IT’s traditional approach to performance management, creating blind spots in digital strategies and costing companies far more than budgeted.

Join us for a fast paced, interactive conversation about HOW IT organizations can elevate above the complexity with AIOps. In this session, you’ll learn how the TrueSight AIOps platform, powered by machine learning technology, can identify patterns in digital data that would otherwise be unrecognizable using rules-based event management.

With the accelerated adoption of public cloud, hybrid applications often use infrastructure resources from one or more cloud providers, along with on-premises resources.  And even cloud native applications can be tied to services that include on-premises or hybrid applications.  So how do you optimize application performance and end-user experience with these complex environments?

Learn how TrueSight provides visibility into application and infrastructure performance, leveraging AIOps and machine learning to predict and pinpoint problems.  Don’t let a complex IT environment prevent you from having the visibility you need for delivering the performance you and your customers expect.

Managing incidents by responding to service tickets is by nature reactive. Incidents come in, tickets get created and issues get worked. IT leaders make ‘best effort’ forecasts for future demand based on past activity. The levers they can pull to respond to growth and change are staffing, automation or process efficiency (more productivity or faster resolution). This situation has been a ‘necessary evil’ for years.

In the era of digital transformation, ‘necessary’ becomes ‘intolerable’. Organizations that cannot find a way to move from a reactive to a proactive stance will find themselves unable to respond to the sprawl, scale, complexity and pace of change in digital IT data and technologies.  Ticketing is the leading indicator of challenges with digital transformation. IT leaders must implement automated, advanced analytics and machine learning that enables a proactive, real-time approach to managing the problems driving incidents that includes bridging ITSM and ITOps – what Gartner calls “Algorithmic IT Operations” (AIOPS).

In this talk we will discuss a strategy using text analytics driven by machine learning to uncover the problems causing incidents and overcome the limitations of inaccurate, incomplete and missing ticket categorization

With the promise of agility and reduced costs, organizations are counting on cloud computing to help with their digital transformation.

Yet organizations continue to get sticker shock when they move applications and workloads from on-premises to public cloud.  Cloud Cost Control provides visibility into current and future costs, simulated migrations and the insight needed for optimizing resources. Keep your digital transformation on track by eliminating surprises and wasted operating spend with Cloud Cost Control.

Fast-paced growth coupled with storage hungry health care applications weighed heavily on Cerner Corporation's existing Capacity Management processes.  As a leading provider of Healthcare IT services, Kansas City based Cerner, needed automation to help keep up with the task of managing storage growth and plan future storage demands.

By leveraging BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization and Moviri professional services to implement service-oriented storage reporting, Cerner was able to take a business-aware approach to storage capacity management.

Let’s talk about the solutions they implemented, the overall realized value from TrueSight Capacity Optimization, and how the engagement helped Cerner mature their capacity management practices.

Business demands for new sources of revenue, unique competitive advantage, and operational excellence, not to mention disruption by “digital native” companies in many industries, have placed enormous pressure on companies to compete digitally.  Transforming to a digital enterprise requires a new integrated approach to IT automation that we call "Digital Business Automation."  This next wave of IT automation will build upon and bridge from existing infrastructure, data, and application technology platforms by adapting them to modern, digital-first technologies and processes.

This session introduces the challenges of achieving digital business transformation with increasingly diverse infrastructure, disparate data, and accelerated applications, and explains how they can be addressed by the exciting capabilities of Control-M.

How converting to Control-M and integrating with 3rd party applications is providing a more efficient and customer centric experience.

If high availability, automatic deployment, and promotion are of interest to you, you’re in the right room.  These are just some of the many reasons to be running  Control-M version 9.  This session will review some of the Control-M 9 features and the benefits they can bring to your enterprise.  But the highlights of “9” don’t end there.  If computers were invented on the first day, and computer networks on the second, it is safe to assume file transfers began on the third!  File transfers continue to be the lifeblood of both cross-platform and multi-application services.  Control-M Managed File Transfer is a new offering that combines the disciplines of workload automation and file transfer management in a single solution.  In this session we will also discuss how combining these two disciplines gives you a single point of control with instant visibility into the status of file transfers and related application workloads, and enables you to provide better service to all of your customers.

Hear the story of File Transfers and how Raymond James is leveraging Control-M to manage that workload and drive efficiencies. Increasing demand, sophistication and maintaining SLA’s are now the standard. Control-M AFT has allowed Raymond James to accommodate those needs and exceed on those expectations. With the introduction of Control-M MFT, Raymond James expects to see another tool added to their environment to maintain the single pane of glass solution for improving efficiency levels and their ability to monitor their file transfers.

Control-M has been leading IT innovation since 1991, when it was the first enterprise-class solution to provide a single view across mainframe and distributed platforms.  The automation needs of our customers have changed from batch processing to job scheduling to workload automation, and Control-M has been leading the way at every new wave of innovation.  We’ve recently delivered new solutions to support Big Data (leveraging Hadoop and Automation API), allowing developers to easily embed Control-M commands during the application build process, and introduced Control-M Managed File Transfer, which combines the disciplines of workload automation and file transfer management in a single solution.  In this session, you’ll learn what the future holds for Control-M , including the upcoming version 9.0.18.  Recognizing that the level of effort to install and upgrade Control-M can be high, and in some cases may also act as a barrier to taking advantage of new features and functionality, we are going to change that with the release of Control-M 9.0.18!

In the digital era, success is predicated on delighting customers, engaging employees, innovating operations, and transforming agency business models. But managing IT at the pace, scale, and complexity demanded by digital businesses is not easy. To succeed, organizations must address a new set of challenges as cloud services, security breaches, data volumes, business agility, and tools to improve employee productivity dominate the IT agenda.  Join this session to learn where BMC and our customers are headed next.

Find out what’s in store for your organization in the next phase of your digital transformation.

The need to accelerate and innovate puts pressure on lines of business to allocate budget for infrastructure resources with limited understanding of their overall impact on day-to-day operations. To be effective service providers to lines of business, infrastructure and operations teams need an understanding of their entire environment, regardless if it’s on premises or in multiple clouds.  As data centers transform to multi-cloud environments, organizations are using new ways to deliver digital services needed to scale the business.  However, these private and public cloud environments often have limited or non-standard means of communications, and need to co-exist with legacy hardware and software.  As a result, companies that lack good visibility into how digital services are implemented may struggle with digital transformation. The processes/tools that guarantee reliability, performance, and interoperability lack understanding of hardware and software dependencies that span traditional IT and multi-cloud environments.

This presentation will give attendees a baseline understanding of the present and anticipated adoption of various cloud environments and compute models.  We will explain how this scenario aligns with use cases for BMC Discovery for multi-cloud environments.

Companies are transforming into digital workplaces, deploying the latest technologies to promote employee collaboration and business innovation.
