Principal Solution Engineer, BMC
After joining what was then a ‘Data Control’ Department in an Insurance Company after ‘A’ Levels as basically a tape and media ‘gofer’, quickly acquired System Operations & Automated Operations skills and experience for the mainframe from 1981(!) onwards, slowly getting exposed to ‘little’ Unix boxes on the way.
Have worked in Workload Automation in various guises for 30+ years, including the UK start-up of a Canadian UK software vendor UK start-up where my Presales journey began working with dSeries & ESP. I was ‘acquired’ by CA in 2006 and expanded my Product skill set to include CA Autosys & CA-7 before seeing the light and joining BMC Software in 2014.
I have a son who has just finished training as an actor and as such is a constant drain on finances, and am a keen road cyclist and gym-goer. I am into Cricket, Rugby & Football but a knee injury has curtailed any chance of playing at all, let alone for England. I love music from the 60’s onwards, especially guitar-based and try enthusiastically to reproduce my favourites on a couple of guitars with varying results, mostly average at best.
