As Head of Strategy & GTM for BMC Software’s Worldwide Value & Solution Engineers, David leads a small specialist team focused on executing against some of the most important strategic and go-to-market initiatives for both Presales and the company. These initiatives include mergers & acquisitions, channels, new SaaS logos, new lines of business (LOB) solutions and the delivery of a modern SaaS demo service. Success for each of these requires an acute understanding of sales execution while working closely with each of BMC’s product organisations. During his 20 years with BMC, David spent the first 10 years in EMEA working with many of BMC’s largest customers in both technical and managerial roles, before transferring to North America where he developed his team’s responsibilities and their success across all of BMC’s distributed portfolio of solutions. Key to David’s success throughout his career has been his focus on creating value-based solutions that solve key customer problems, delivering success for them and BMC. Prior to joining BMC Software, David spent seven years working for the Royal Bank of Scotland, at the time the fifth biggest bank in the world, and was responsible for systems management and software distribution (DevOps). David holds a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Heriot Watt University in Scotland.
